In the News: Supply Chain Info Providers in Demand; Guidelines Published to Ensure Anti-Corruption in Healthcare Sector; and GDPR Complaints Filed Against Chinese Companies
Data platforms that look into supply chains benefit from worsening U.S.-China trade relations; China issues first comprehensive guidelines on anti-corruption compliance for the healthcare sector; and complaints have been filed against TikTok, Shein, and AliExpress alleging they are transferring EU personal data to Chinese authorities in violation of GDPR rules.
New Data Platforms Help Businesses to Manage Supply Chain Risks
Increasing U.S. export and trade restrictions against China have led to the emergence of new data platforms that help companies deal with supply chain risks, Nikkei Asia reports.
These China-focused data platforms, such as WireScreen, Kharon, Datenna and Strider Technologies, rely on shipping and corporate records to “map out trade networks and business associations in opaque countries where information is difficult to acquire.” This allows companies and their auditors better oversight of their supply chains, a task compliance departments of even major banks and investment firms are unable to execute fully.
