Founded in 2006, VMS Group is a Hong Kong-based alternative investment firm that specializes in investing in technology, healthcare, and consumption companies in Greater China and globally. In the following interview, Elton Cheung discusses his responsibilities as a partner at VMS, focused on business development and fundraising, as well as (perhaps more relevant to the readers here) his previous roles as head of legal and head of strategy, the challenges that come with these roles, and the importance of good corporate governance. The quality of corporate governance now stands alongside financial and growth metrics as a key criterion for evaluating the prospects of a target company.
