The purpose of the Amended Provisions is to reduce the number of cases on the docket of the SPC IP Tribunal so that the judges can focus on cases that are considered complex and important
On October 27, 2023, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) issued the amended Provisions on Several Issues Concerning the Intellectual Property Tribunal ("Amended Provisions") (最高人民法院关于知识产权法庭若干问题的规定). Under the Amended Provisions, as of November 1, 2023, the SPC IP Tribunal no longer has jurisdiction over certain types of appeal cases. The purpose of the Amended Provisions is to reduce the number of cases on the docket of the SPC IP Tribunal so that the judges can focus on cases that are considered complex and important.
