Applicability: For the purposes of these Provisions, the term "violent online information" means unlawful and undesirable information sent in a focused manner over a network to an individual that is insulting, abusive, spreads a rumor, is defamatory, invasive of privacy or is moral coercion, derogation, discrimination, malicious speculation, etc. that has a serious impact on physical and/or mental health (Article 2).
Main contents: Where a network information service provider discovers violent online information that is insulting, abusive, spreads a rumor, is defamatory, invasive of privacy, etc., it shall take measures to deal with the same, such as deletion, blocking, delinking, restricting its dissemination, etc. With respect to undesirable information involving online violence, it may not appear in the key nodes specified in Article 11 of the Provisions for the Governance of Online Information Content so as to prevent the spread of violent online information (Article 12).
