China launches cybersecurity review of US Chipmaker Micron

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) announced on March 31 that it launched an investigation into Idaho-based Micron for national security reasons. It is the first foreign semiconductor firm to face a cybersecurity review in China. This comes as the United States, Japan and the Netherlands jointly agreed to restrict exports of some advanced chip-making machinery to China.
