MIIT removes network access licensing requirements for telecom equipment

Issued: January 17, 2023

Effective: March 1, 2023

Main contents: The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will no longer accept or approve new network access license applications for 11 types of telecommunications equipment consisting of landline telephone terminals, cordless telephone terminals, group phones, fax machines, modems (including cards), wireless pagers, narrowband integrated services digital network terminals (ISDN terminals), multimedia terminals that connect to mobile communication networks, frame relay switches, asynchronous transfer mode switches (ATM switches) and call center equipment.
