Apps are required to inform users of third party use of their personal information

Issued: November 1, 2021

Main contents: The Circular requires that where sensitive permissions, such as for using photo albums, address book, location, etc. in a user's terminal, are invoked, the user be informed of the purpose of such invocation in an appropriate manner, so that the user's right to information is fully ensured (to be implemented by end of December 2021) (Section 2.1.3).

Internet enterprises shall place conspicuous and effective close buttons in their App startup page information and pop-up information windows, and the size, location and color of the buttons shall be easy to manage and identify so that users can "find and close" them. The App startup page information window may not use whole screen images, videos, etc. as jump links to induce users to click on them or easily mislead users into clicking, causing inconvenience to users (to be implemented by end of December 2021) (Section 2.1.4).
