There are stricter rules on using the word "China" and its variants in an enterprise's name
(Promulgated on May 6, 1991 with Order of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce [1991] No. 7. Amended for the first time pursuant to the State Council, Decision on Amending and Abolishing Certain Administrative Provisions of November 9, 2012. Amended and adopted at the 118th Executive Meeting of the State Council on December 14, 2020. Effective as of March 1, 2021.)

Article 1: These Provisions have been formulated in order to regulate the administration of the registration of enterprise names, protect the lawful rights and interests of enterprises, maintain the social and economic order, and optimize the business environment.
第一条 为了规范企业名称登记管理,保护企业的合法权益,维护社会经济秩序,优化营商环境,制定本规定。
