U.S. tightens restrictions on Huawei's global access to chips

The Trump administration is further tightening its grip on Huawei's global access to chips. On Aug. 17, the U.S. Commerce Department issued new rules expanding restrictions on the Chinese telecom giant's access to "items produced domestically and abroad from U.S. technology and software." The new rules took immediate effect.
