Non-litigation dispute resolution is encouraged in labor disputes

Issued: February 20, 2020

Main contents: Pilot projects for defusing labor disputes by diverse means shall be launched in provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) such as Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong and Sichuan, as well as in Xi'an City in Shaanxi, Ningbo City in Zhejiang and Beihai City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (Preamble).

Parties shall be encouraged to resolve, and guided in resolving, disputes by non-litigation means such as consultations, mediation and arbitration, and the participation by labor unions in labor dispute mediation work and the linkage of arbitration mediation, people's mediation and judicial mediation shall be strengthened (Article 2).
