U.S. to strip Hong Kong of special trade privileges; China adopts its first-ever civil code; and more entry exemptions on the horizon for select countries

U.S. to rescind Hong Kong's special trade privileges

The United States will begin stripping Hong Kong of some of its special trade privileges. President Trump's announcement on May 29 came on the heels of the State Department's determination that Hong Kong no longer "maintains a high degree of autonomy from China, given facts on the ground." However, the Trump administration has yet to implement any specific measures or provided details of their scope.
