Q:        Among the policy results of the eighth round of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue is the welcoming of qualified wholly foreign-owned enterprises and equity joint ventures to apply to register as private securities fund managers and engage in private securities fund management business, including securities trading on the secondary market, in accordance with provisions. What then are the requirements in respect of wholly foreign-owned and equity joint private securities fund management institutions applying to register as private securities fund managers?

问：第八轮中美战略与经济对话政策成果中包括欢迎符合条件的外商独资和合资企业申请登记成为私募证券基金管理机构，按规定开展包括二级市场证券交易在内的私募证券基金管理业务。请问，外商独资和合资私募证券基金管理机构申请登记成为私募证券基金管理人有何要求？

A:        Based on the policy results achieved in the seventh and eighth rounds of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue and the Seventh China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, and subject to the consent of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (the CSRC), a wholly foreign-owned or equity joint private securities fund management institution wishing to engage in private securities fund management business in China is required to register as a private securities fund manager with the Asset Management Association of China and satisfy the following conditions:
