The NPC has passed the amended PRC Criminal Law, R&D in science and technology has been encouraged and the investment scope of old-age insurance funds has been clarified

Criminal law

Amendment Bill of the PRC Criminal Law (IX)
中华人民共和国刑法修正案(九)

If a person is well aware that another is using the internet to commit a criminal offence and provides such other person technical support such as internet access, server hosting, online storage, communication transmission, or assistance such as advertising promotion and payment settlement, and the circumstances thereof are serious, he/she shall be sentenced to up to three years of imprisonment or penal servitude and/or be imposed a fine.

Science and technology

PRC Law on Promoting the Practical Application of Scientific and Technological Achievements (Revised)
中华人民共和国促进科技成果转化法 (修正)

The state encourages research and development institutions and institutions of higher learning to transfer scientific and technological achievements to enterprises or other organizations by way of assignment, licensing or investment of the same at assessed value.

Insurance

State Council, Measures for the Administration of Investment by Basic Old-age Insurance Funds
国务院基本养老保险基金投资管理办法

The Measures specify that, at present, basic old-age insurance funds may only invest domestically and the percentage of their investments in stocks, stock funds, mixed funds and stock-type pension products may not, in aggregate, exceed 30% of the net value of their assets.
