The research process for this year's China Law & Practice Awards has begun. Here's how to get involved

Welcome to the eighth China Law & Practice Awards.

The China Law & Practice Awards is the jurisdiction's most prestigious legal awards ceremony that recognises and applauds China's elite.

It celebrates trail-blazing deals, precedent-setting cases and top-quality practitioners. It upholds legal innovation and evolution, and seeks out complexity and market impact among those to be selected as finalists. Winners will be chosen based on their ability to incorporate novel and progressive legal structures, reconcile inconsistencies in the law or contribute to – perhaps even pioneer – reform.

The awards research process is renowned for its comprehensiveness and objectivity – no partial external influences interfere with research and selection.

After the success of last year's awards and based on the feedback of market participants, China Law & Practice has further expanded the awards categories. Given the increased focus on compliance and drive against corruption, the Regulatory & Compliance award for Firm of the Year has been extended to include domestic firms. An award for TMT Deal of the Year has also been added to highlight the numerous acquisitions and offerings that have taken place among the high-powered Chinese tech companies in the past year.

Finally, many younger players are increasing in prominence, and in order to recognise their hard work and contribution to the legal community, the Rising Star awards have been extended across all Individual Awards categories: Competition, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, Labour & Employment, Real Estate & Construction and Tax.
