Main contents: Where a business operator offers durable goods such as motor vehicles, microcomputers, televisions or refrigerators, or services such as decoration and renovation, if a defect in the good or service arises within six months from the date on which the consumer received the same and a dispute ensues, the business operator shall bear the relevant burden of proof.

Where an act harms the lawful rights and interests of numerous consumers, the China Consumers' Association or the consumers' association established in a province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the central government may institute a legal action in a people's court.
