Main contents: The China Securities Regulatory Commission revised the Guidelines on the Industrial Classification of Listed Companies promulgated in 2001. According to the new Guidelines, the industrial classification of listed companies shall be revised on a quarterly basis, and include business profits as the supporting basis for industrial classification instead of having business income as the sole basis for classification, as in the previous Guidelines. The new Guidelines also resolve the inconsistencies between the original industrial classification of listed companies and the industrial classification of the national economy by classifying the industries in strict accordance with the categories and classes specified in the Industrial Classification of the National Economy promulgated by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2011.
