The former Asia chief legal officer of DE Shaw & Co, Marcia Ellis, has joined the Hong Kong office of Ropes & Gray as a partner. The private equity specialist has a particular expertise in leveraged transactions and M&As.
Prior to joining DE Shaw & Co, Ellis was a partner at Morrison & Foerster in Hong Kong. During this time, she worked with Morgan Stanley Principal Investments, Avenue Capital and RREEF, among other clients. She has been practising in Asia since 1996.
