PRC engineering services provider Wuhan Kaidi Electric Power has entered into an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Vietnamese development company, Thang Long Thermoelectric (Thang Long). The EPC contract relates to the 600 MW Thang Long coal-fired thermal power plant in Qhang Ninh province in Vietnam.
Thang Long was the investor and sole developer on the ECP contract worth US$645 million. The project is expected to be completed in 2015. Kaidi is based in Hubei, China.
An Hong Kong and Vietnam-based Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe team advised Thang Long. Its team was led by Christopher Stephens. Kaidi was represented by its in-house group.
