Chinese agribusiness conglomerate Cofco has acquired Château de Viaud, a vineyard located in the Bordeaux region of France. Owner of the Great Wall wine brand, Cofco is the first PRC wine dealer to purchase a Bordeaux winery.
The seller of the vineyard is Philippe Raoux, a Bordeaux wine grower and merchant.
A Paris-based Gide Loyrette Nouel team, led by Guillaume Rougier-Brierre and including assistance from its Beijing office, acted for Cofco. Lange & De Galzain advised Raoux.
