Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has made a US$57.6 million pre-initial public offering (IPO) investment into Xueda Education Group (Xueda). The transaction was completed on November 5.
Xueda is a Beijing-based provider of tutoring services for primary and secondary school students in the Mainland. It operates 157 learning centres in 44 centres across China.
Advising Warburg Pincus was an Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe team, led by Hong Kong partner Maurice Hoo. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in Hong Kong represented Xueda.
