The Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom) is keen to allow foreign investors easier access to the real estate sector, it was reported recently.
According to reports in the China Daily, the Ministry recently submitted a plan to the State Council requesting an easier approval process for foreign investment. A Mofcom spokesman was quoted as saying that the proposal had been co-ordinated with other ministries.
As well as suggesting more foreign access to the property market, the proposal also suggests opening the hi-tech sector and drawing up rules on taxation, foreign exchange and regulatory supervision.
