State Council, Plan for Modifying and Promoting the Equipment Manufacturing Industry

Main contents: The equipment manufacturing industry shall be promoted through:
(1) key projects in 10 major sectors, including highly efficient and clean power generation; distribution and transformation of ultra-high voltage electricity; coal and metallic ore mining; pipeline transmission of natural gas and storage and transportation of liquefied natural gas; high-speed railways; urban railway transportation; agriculture and villages; infrastructure; ecological environment and people's livelihood; and major special scientific and technological projects;
(2) localisation of the equipment for key projects in nine major industries, including iron and steel, automotive, petrochemical, vessel, light, textile, non-ferrous metal, electronic information, and state defence military industries; and
(3) enhancing the manufacturing standards of four major types of ancillary products including large casts, basic parts and components, processed auxiliary tools and special raw materials (Article 3).
Support in the form of subsidised interest for loans may be offered to domestic enterprises that merge with or acquire overseas manufacturing enterprises and research and development organisations (Article 4).
