Main contents: Clause (2) of Article 4 of the Model Contract Text stipulates that where the assignee of the contracted management rights in rural land changes the agricultural use of the land without authorisation or uses the land in such an irrational way that results in permanent damage to the land, the assignor may, upon confirmation by the relevant state departments, recover the leaseholds and confiscate the contractual deposit. The assignee shall assume the liability for recovering the function of the land and, where the said function cannot be fully recovered, the liability for compensation.
