The financing for the Kazakh and Uzbek sections of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline has been signed, with China Development Bank acting as mandated lead arranger.
The pipeline will stretch from Turkmenistan to China and eventually deliver 30bcm of natural gas every
year. The new sections will measure 1,818 km.
Clifford Chance advised China Development Bank on the financing. Baker & McKenzie acted for the borrowers while Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer advised the Uzbek sponsor.
