10 firms work on deal to sell DM Label Group to Avery Dennison

New York-listed Avery Dennison Corporation has acquired DM Label Group, a manufacturer of woven labels with facilities in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and the US.
More than 10 international law firms advised on the deal, including Latham & Watkins, who represented DM Label Group which has its headquarters in Taipei, while Sheppard Mullin represented Avery Dennison Corporation. The international deal team of Sheppard Mullin was led by Los Angeles-based Larry Braun, Will Chuchawat, John Bonn, Michael Chan, Taylor Dasher, Jeff Kaye, Gina Kim, Jim Lonergan, Steve O'Neil, Zac Turke, Carlton Varner, Ping Chu, Julie Yu, Michael Zhang, William Zheng and Jennifer Lee.
James Hsu, a member of the family who founded DM Label Group, said the company has had a productive relationship with Avery Dennison. He will serve as vice president and general manager.
Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer of Avery Dennison commented: “The DM Label Group strengthens our woven label product line and reinforces our presence in Asia, a major sourcing area for the global apparel, retail branding and marking industry.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
