Effective: April 15 2007
Applicability: These Regulations apply to work units and persons engaging in futures trading, including trading of commodity or financial futures or options contracts, and related activities (Article 2).
Main Contents: The Regulations is a revision of the one promulgated in 1999. They expand their scope of governance from just commodity futures contracts to financial futures contracts and options contracts (Article 2). They also allow futures trading in a trading venue approved by the State Council's futures regulatory authority other than a futures exchange (Article 4). The former futures brokerages are now renamed as futures companies, and futures companies are defined as financial institutions.
