Applicability: "Permanent residence in China of foreign nationals" means that the period of residence in China of foreign nationals is not subject to restrictions (Article 2).

Main contents: Foreign nationals eligible to apply for permanent residence in China include: (1) those directly investing in China, and whose investments have been stable for three consecutive years, tax payment records are good and actually-paid registered capital is in compliance with provisions; (2) those assuming positions of deputy general manager, vice factory manager, etc., in foreign-invested enterprises in the encouraged category in China; (3) those making significant and outstanding contributions to China and such contributions are specially needed by the state; and (4) the spouse and unmarried child under the age of 18 of persons referred above (Articles 6, 7 and 8).
