Main contents: The Circular abolishes the administrative examination and approval requirements on the establishment of, extension of the term of and alteration to resident representative offices of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and foreign enterprises on nine categories of enterprises: trading investors, manufacturers, freight forwarding agents, contractors, consultancies, advertising companies, investment companies, leasing companies and tobacco companies. Examination and approval requirements are still retained for the establishment of resident representative offices in China by Taiwan and foreign non-enterprise economic organizations.
