Main contents: As compared to the Shanghai Municipality, Establishment of Research and Development Organizations by Foreign Investors Tentative Provisions of 2000, the Opinions provide customs convenience to foreign-invested research and development organizations for import of equipment, parts and samples. The Opinions also provide other preferential treatment in terms of entry visas, introduction of personnel from outside Shanghai, protection of intellectual property rights, participation in key government scientific research and projects, and awards for scientific results.
