Ministry of Information Industry, Administration of the Assessment by Experts of Telecommunications Equipment to be Connected to Networks Provisions

Applicability: Telecommunications equipment covered by the Provisions includes network interconnection equipment, wireless communications equipment and new telecommunications products (Article 2).

Main contents: An expert assessment group is composed of scientific research, testing, operations, and government experts unconnected to the enterprise (Article 4).
After confirming reception of a manufacturer's assessment application, the Telecommunications Regulatory Bureau instructs the manufacturer to prepare ten pieces of the item and prepare for an inspection within 30 days. Five days before the inspection, the Telecommunications Regulatory Bureau supplies the necessary documents and materials to the assessment experts and notifies the manufacturer of the inspection (Article 5).
The manufacturer should supply the following materials: network connection permit application; manufacturer background information; technical documents; network connection test report; network connection trial report; quality control system certificate; description of after-sales measures; model number (for wireless telecommunications equipment) (Article 6).
The Telecommunication Regulatory Bureau, depending on circumstances, can use either a meeting format or a document format for the assessment (Article 9).
