Applicability: "Foreign investment" includes investment by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan businesses (Item One).
Main contents: According to the Provisions, foreign investment in Chongqing is not subject to any additional restriction in respect of industry, equity percentage, form of investment, type of operation and duration unless otherwise imposed by the State (Item One). Preferential policies applicable to foreign investment in Chongqing that have been previously promulgated under separate covers are now consolidated in the Provisions. New preferential policies are also added to reflect the recent policy of the State regarding the economic development of the western part of China. Areas covered by these previously existing and newly-added preferential policies include regulatory approval (Part Two), corporate registration (Part Three), taxation (Part Four), land, resources and real property (Part Five), foreign exchange and credit facilities (Part Six), imports and exports (Part Seven) and human resources (Part Eight).
