Applicability: These Standards apply to the supervision of construction, equipment procurement and equipment manufacturing in new construction, expansion and renovation projects (Item 1.0.2).
Main contents: According to the Standards, a construction supervisory work unit shall set up the project supervisory body on site for each project it is appointed to supervise (Item 3.1.1). The supervisory body shall be led by a chief supervising engineer who shall have over three years of experience in supervising similar projects (Item 3.1.3). The duties of all kinds of supervising engineers are specified (Section 3.2). The supervisory work unit is required to prepare a supervising plan and rules for implementing the plan (Part Four). The Standards set out the standard procedures by which the supervisory work unit shall supervise the quality, cost, progress, acceptance and warranty of the construction project (Part Five). In special circumstances such as suspension of work, modification of the project, work delays, claims, disputes and termination resulting from breach of contract, the supervisory work unit may also refer to the Standards for guidelines (Part Six). The Standards also stipulate the procedures for supervising the procurement and manufacturing of equipment for construction projects (Part Eight).
