Main contents: The Rules require listed companies to prepare quarterly reports within 30 days after the end of the third month and the ninth month of the accounting year and to publish such reports on the newspapers and websites designated by China Securities Regulatory Commission (Article 4). In the financial information sections of the quarterly report, the reporting company is not required to publish complete financial statements but shall publish an abbreviated consolidated profit statement and balance sheet (Article 7). In the business operation and analysis sections, the company shall summarize the material changes in those respects during the period covered by the report, a change is "material" if it reflects a 20% change over the last reporting period or the same period of the previous year, and accounts for over 10% of the net profit of the reporting period or over 5% of the total asset value at the end of the reporting period (Article 8). The company is not required to prepare an abstract of the quarterly report (Article 9).
