Applicability: These Provisions are applicable to the industrial, commercial and trade enterprises within Guangdong Province (Article 2).

Main contents: The Provisions contain 51 articles in 9 parts. Part Two sets out provisions relating to product quality, including requirements for product safety and truthful labelling. Part Three is related to quality of after-sale services for products. Part Four is concerned with quality control. It is stated that the legal representative of an enterprise is the person ultimately responsible for the quality-related work of the enterprise and has full responsibility for the quality of the products and services of the enterprise (Article 23). Part Five is about product standardization. Compliance with international standards and advanced foreign standards is encouraged (Article 33). If a product is not covered by existing standards, the enterprise shall formulate an enterprise standard and file it with the local technical supervision authority (Article 32). Part Six contains provisions on measurement. Part Seven calls for the implementation of a "famous brand" strategy by every enterprise.
